Her hair is so big because it is full of secrets

3 Hair secrets to bring with you into the 2025 New Year

New Year’s is the perfect time to give your hair a refresh or a total makeover. With a little inspiration from the fresh, majesty and beauty of the mountains, your hair can feel just as strong and revitalized.

1. Embrace a new look by experimenting with your current style.
Personally, it gets too boring to do the same style every day. Doing up the same style every day is not only plain but damages your hair. Straightening, curling, buns, and ponytails can cause repeated strain on your hair, and worn all in the same area, makes it more damaged.  You know why your hairdresser always goes shorter than you asked? Your ends are burnt marshmallow level crisp from all the heat, brushing, coloring and general growth damage. It is better to cut off all the damage. You can also simply refresh your current routine. For example, if you wear your hair down, try a different split spot, headband, or a low bun or ponytail. Try hair twists, clips, or silk scrunchies for a heat-less put-together style.

2. Try something more extreme like bold colorscutting-edge cuts.
Whether you're channeling the adventurous spirit of a mountain trek or the peaceful calm of a snow-capped peak, a new cut or color can provide the perfect chance to start the year with confidence. You can dye it yourself, like me, with YouTube, Sally’s supplies, or even easier box dye. I have dyed my own hair almost any color you can imagine. is so fun to try new looks, even if they are not perfect. Go where the wind blows you. You may find a new one that perfectly fits your style.

3. Consider a refreshing hair treatment for winter weather.
Winter can be tough on your locks, so take a moment to nourish and protect your hair. Think of it like the way you would prepare for a mountain hike: fortify and protect. A leave-in conditioner, heat protectant, or nourishing hair mask will ensure your strands stay strong through the colder months. I recommend using a tea tree leave-in conditioner to keep your hair hydrated, and Tresemmé's heat protectant spray before blow-drying. I also love my round brush hairdryer—it gives me a ready-to-go blowout or gorgeous straight hair just like the mountain winds smoothing the landscape.

Pro tip: Silk scrunchies are not only good for your hair, but they also help to prevent creases and kinks in your hair and you use throughout the day and night. I love tying my bun up in a silk scrunchie to sleep and to prevent tangles or I wear a silk cap.
